I just found the WORST blister package ever, hands down, the Sennheiser CX300, HORRIBLE. Even after using scissors and cutting off all the edges, I still couldn't get it out.

Now my index finger is bleeding and my ego is bruised.

Seriously? There isn't a better way to do this?

There's a way to open blister package easily, it's called razor blade.

Blame it on the criminals that slit the packages and remove the product while it hangs o the peg or sits on the shelf.

It's a reactive process ... crooks get product out, store complains (and gets rebate from MFR/distributor), they create "better" packaging. It also protects it better during shipping.

It sucks but it's reality; get over it.

I just bought a wireless travel mouse for my laptop and it came in a blister package that was perforated and even had a convenient tab for opening. I don't know why more companies don't do that.

Along those lines

Carlo bought the OpenX blister pack opener, and guess what? It comes in a blister pack, labelled 'This is the last package you'll struggle to open!'

That's just cruel?it's like wrapping condoms in babies.

There are a bunch of products out there, like the OpenX, that are made to open up blister packs easily. Just google 'blister pack opener'.

I solved that problem by taking the item I just purchased to the customer service desk and having them remove it. It turns out they really don't like doing that, but I don't see why I should risk cutting myself.

I use a high heat lighter for the tough ones, just my hands and some strength for the normal ones.

The fact that one needs a tool to open the package should tell you there's something wrong.

You don't cut the welded together parts, you stab it in the soft part on the edge, and go around the entire package. When you're done, you'll have 2 shells.

I'm not saying blister packs don't suck. They do. As a parent of two children and buyer of electronic gizmos, I hate blister packaging with a passion. But there is something out there that makes it easier to open.

No, but it would be prohibitively expensive for companies to send products to stores in blister packs and products to Amazon in different packaging.

Use a pocket knife to slice around the base of the top bubble part that holds the product.

Ahhh, stab for the soft underbelly and the beast will fall.

I use a pair of heavy duty shears I got at home depot. They have one serrated, one straight edge 2.5" blade and are chromemoly. It says they can cut tiles on the package.

I think the metal wire twist tie found in toy packaging pwns blisterpak in terms of frustration level. They run these through the toy and then twist them tight onto the backing...
