I had RMA hdd and IBM sent it to UPS. UPS then said that they delivered it to me yesterday at 11am, and well thats bull. I kept caling IBM and UPS and finally UPS said they shipped it to 3548 Brookdale drive, but THAT STREET DOESNT EXIST ON MY BLOCK OR ANYWHERE IN OUR CITY. Even worse than that, the package was supposed to be SIGNAUTRE REQUIRED, BUT the idiot driver decides to deliver to an address that doesnt exist and just leave my 30gig 75GXP on someones doorstep. I am hella pissed!!!! I chewed out the customer service lady, they tried to get me to do a tracer but I basically told them to shove it. Now they are trying to contact the driver and make him retrace his steps and deliver the package to me this time, but it better happen soon because I leave on sat to go back to college which is friggin 6hrs away. Cant believe how incompetent these idiots can be.

yeah, IBM + UPS = a bunch of idiots. I'm still waiting for them to 'trace' the RMA drive that they supposedly sent me in November. Of course, it is to the wrong address like you.

I'm basically lazy, and the drive isn't very important, so I just kept sending like 10 emails to the same address every week. I think I'll just start from scratch and file a complaint with BBB on IBM and call it a day.

I think you stand a better chance with the Pony Express than you do with UPS! I am to the point that I will not pay for UPS shipping. If I want to buy something I will find a vender that ships by some other method. The only time I will use UPS is if the vendor is the one paying for shipping

well now i know how much they suck. BUT GOOD NEWS some old couple found my hdd and returned it to me 5min ago, so I called UPS once more and chewed them out again, then their manager also apologized then said that the driver would be severely talked to, hehe he deserves it. Seriously my package actually has the right address on it, but the idiot driver delievered it to his ficitional address then without a signature dropped it at someones home? IDIOT
well he deserves a yelling

luckily i have this driveway thats kind of hidden, so the UPS boys just leave it there. So far, nothing has been missing or stolen and I'm expecting a shipment from them tomorrow.

Also, I'm usually home in the mornings and thats when the shipments come

About a week ago I had UPS deliever a package to 3124 33rd W. Ave, when it was supposed to go to 2120 Southwest Blvd. When I called, they said that the vender put the wrong address on the package, and wouldn't tell me what company they delievered to. I was so pissed I drove out there myself got it. I then called UPS add bitched them out, because it had the right address on there.

I am also getting sick of them leaving stuffon my doorstep when I am not home. I've had them leave $500 of hardware just sitting there for anyone to take.

EDIT: BTW: The package the last was supposed to come to my company.

Usually I am using my work address for UPS shipments, I can definately get it around 10 am at shipping dock.

Recently UPS guy drop my wife's order at doorsteps.
I saw him and ask "Do you want signature?" -
He said "NO", even I showed him "ADULT signature required" on the box.
He said: "It is valid for business addresses, not for residential, I will deliver till midnight, if I collect signatures"

Yeah I can't believe how horrible they are, the need to go back to delivering school, and beat the rules of how to deliver a package successfully into thick neantherdal heads.

UPS blows...I've had a litany of run-ins with UPS that I don't care to revisit.

I only ship FedEx now and always choose a FedEx shipping option if available. They always deliver according to instructions and deliver faster than garanteed much of the time. I've had 3 day packages shipping from Texas to my house in Los Angeles arrive in one day on several occasions. UPS: if you pick 3 day the earliest you'll see it is in 3 days...

Hell, even the USPS is better than UPS IMO...same service for a quarter to half the price.

I had the optical section of a newspaper page sized laser printer delivered by FedEx that looked like they threw it out of the airplane as they flew over. $6500 smashed all to hell. The replacement came by truck and barge and took three weeks but at least it was in one chunk when it got here(Alaska).

when i ordered my last pc about 2 years ago, it was sent to me by UPS. our house is not directly accessible by the main street, but you have to use a small way that is leading to us. there are two possibilities to get to our house (the small way has two ends and both ends lead to two different streets). the UPS man came from one side, but there was a car of one of our neihbours standing in the way so that he could not reach our house. he came walking and asked my mother (i was in school) how to deliver the package. my mother told him simply to come from the other side of the small way. the UPS man agreed and said he would be there in 5 minutes. this was on a friday. he came back monday in the morning.

Well I think you all are talking about UPS in the US right? Well here in the UK it is pretty much different. They ring door bell... If there is nobody home then they take it back to depot and place a card thing in. If you are they let you sign it and you are the one that clicks OK recieved on their PDA thing... They are much much better in the UK... well from the experience we have had!

They're pretty good here in canada. They check to see if anyone is home. If not they leave that little note on the door.

When I leave a note on the door asking them to deliver to my next door neighbor, they do that too. And they always get signatures.

FEDEX and UPS are good here.

After 4 years of at least 1 delivery a month I have never had a problem with UPS and its all been residential. I visit their pickup most of the time because I'm never home and they never leave any packages outside. Airborne express however scared the crap out of me when I came home and found 400 dollars worth of equipment laying in front of my door.

My experience with them sux big time too!! I live in a residential neighborhood, work a regular 9-5 job, but guess what my ups man gets off work around 5:30!!! i can't get home in under 1/2 hour and who really leaves work 5 on the dot anyway! unlike some of you he does require a signature so he never drops off anything! now how the hell am i supposed to get any packages at home! anyway to make a long story short, its either i take off work early to get my packages or i use regular mail, at least it doesn't get sent back to the company after he can't deliver it to me. complaints were useless to the regional manager, bunch of idiots over there!!

Well this proves that UPS's service fluctuates from country to country! Here in the UK they are pretty good, and according to someone else in Canada they are pretty good, but in the US and Germany they are CRAP to put it nicely from what I have heard! Hope they improve on their act or they will be out of business big time! Then again the company is too large for its own good! They can't keep up with everything! This post only is aimed at people who hvae has trouble! Think about the millions of people who haven't had the trouble and is OK. This is a minority yes... But should not have happened in the first place, so I agree with your anger guys! And no I am not a rep from UPS as I am only 16 and still worrying how to get through my GCSE exams, which to people who don't know are the major public exams which everybody takes when theya re 15-16.

UPS is an absolute disaster. It took them three tries to get my Hitachi Superscan Supreme to me without damaging it. The first one wasn't even in the box when they left it on my porch! The styrofoam was still on it, and the cardboard just draped over the top. Of course, he ignored the signature required label, dropped it on the porch and slunk away. They've misrouted some of my shipments, damaged several others. They left a complete system that was worth between $4500-5000 sitting within five feet of the sidewalk, back when I lived in a bad neighborhood. I'm surprised the garbage men didn't mistake it for trash, considering it was practically next to the cans I'd put out.

From where I live now, I could literally walk to UPS in less than ten minutes, and yet they have never gotten a package to me before 3:00PM (with the exception of a few Overnight packages). Airborne and FedEx are both located in the same area, and they're always here before 9:30AM. The last guy that brought me a package for Saturday delivery absolutely reeked of pot smoke when he - miracle of miracles - got my signature.

I agree with Dadx2mj - I will not pay for UPS delivery. A blind, drunken mule with a learning disability could deliver packages better than they do. :)
