I am so frustrated with this university stuff....

First I couldn't get into the universities I wanted.. and then when I sent in my confirmation letter to another university, I found out my residence application was supposed to be sent in nearly 3 weeks before!! Now I'm stuck with the possibility of not getting a dorm room and having to get a place 15 minutes away off campus..
Who would have thought you had to confirm residence before you even confirm attendence with that particular university??! damn it..

and yes I know its my own fault.. I'm just frustrated.

Just for comparion...Uni of Texas starts housing registration on Sept 1st, and you have to have registered by Oct 1st if you want any sort of a decent place. Yet, at the same time, applications aren't due to Jan 1st. You are notified of school acceptance in March, more or less, but you don't even hear back from the housing guys till May!

heh.. i was afraid for a while that i'd do the same.. since im doing all the payments and paperwork for school... my parents are completely out of it.. hope i dont mess it up

dude, 15 minutes is not that bad...

Its not so much the distance.. its the rooms themselves. 8"x10" and shared washrooms and showers.. camp style

geez, maybe I'm too sheltered 😛

Stop your whining... most universities will have that unless they're apartments.

Nothing builds comaraderie like all three showers being taken up, and you having twenty minutes to get dressed and get to class.

At least you got into the university - look at it that way.

You can learn now or never: any large bureaucracy is like this. Learn to work it or oppose it--you figure out which one is worth it.
In the end, the company you work for will want you to follow their bureauractic "rules", and you can fight it or not. It has little to do with common sense.
That's just the way it is.
You can swim upstream or go w/ the flow.
Just remember: for most people, their job is not their life--the two are seperate.

I've never been in a situation where I've had to stay in a dorm before so I'm just ignorant of the facts... sorry if I came off as whining but it was the only university that accepted me and it's 5 hours away from home and the fact I get lectured enough about not getting into a school in the city...

oh well.. that's having asian parents

You just go to class without taking a shower... or, I just skip.😛
