<< I'd gladly help >>

You wanna be a mod, eh? Well I can hook you up. Just come down to 2nd street tonight at 1 AM, and bring a bag full of 100-dollar bills. I'll be the guy with the really long socks. Give me the bag, walk straight home, and by the next morning, you'll have "Moderator" under your name.

Hans, really, I have to ask if your stupid?

I've been here for over a year. Sorry to say this, but bringing money to people usually doesn't work. I've gotten scammed over $3000 dollars, and am still not a moderator.

I believe it has become a problem, but I hate the idea of asking the mods to be meaner. Shudders...

You know what I think could help?

Renaming the Software forum ... make somthing like "General Software", and place it right below GH in the Forum listing.

For me, this would be the ideal order for the forums list:
- General Hardware
- General Software
- Tech Support
- Highly Technical
- Off Topic
- Operating Systems
- Peripherals
- Video
- Motherboards
- Networking
- Cases and Cooling
- Distributed Computing
- AT Articles
- AT News
- Forum Issues

Well, I have been here for a little while...lol. I remember on the old, old BBS when there was considerably less than 60000 (wowser) members, topics use to be kept a little more on topic.

If the software forum had more users, I bet we'd see fewer responses in GH. I see LOTS of stuff go unanswered in Software. Maybe people get discouraged and post in GH as a last resort.

I to think the general hardware forum has become too general, but for example if someone has a question about a video card where are they gonner post it, in the Video forum or the General which has much more chance of response.

I don't see why there needs to be a forum for each piece of hardware AND a general hardware forum.

If you got rid of the general forum people would be forced to post in the relevent hardware section.

Or pehaps rename the GH to The Hardware Industry, isn't this what is supposed to be in the GH anyway?

Thanks.

kuk, nice order, except that 'Off Topic' is still next to 'Highly Technical', which isn't right ;)
