My sister works for the Canadian Blood Donor Clinic here in London Ontario. This is what we call the Red Cross now. Anyway, she volunteered to go with the convoy headed south to help out. My sister is 2 months pregnant, but wants to go because she has a desire to help those less fortunate than her.

Here is an article about the convoy I found:

 for my sister!

PS: she went to NY when the towers were bombed to help out too.

It's nice that she wants to help out those more unfortunate than her. But New Orleans is a sh!t town, it becoming the next Atlantis would be a godsend.

I admire your sister for her compassion and generosity, but I was relieved to read in the article that they are going to Texas and not to New Orleans. I was concerned about her exposing herself to some of the unhealthy conditions there in her condition.

 to your sister.

Yeah, me 2.

Good for your sister.

being pregnant and going down to a area that may be stricked with all kings of airborne disease? all kinds of pollution? all kinds of threats from different sources?

please, tell her to reconsider. i salute the way she has reacted to this, but this is not most wisest decion especially when you factor in the pregnancy.

but i will hope for the best for her and everyone else down there

I feel the same way. I will just have to wait to find out more about what is going on.

Hopefully she stays here for her own safety.

I do worry about her, though I do tend to hide my concern.

Awesome... ive thought about it. But im starting college up again so I can't put that aside. I'd definately do if i had just graduated.

Get her a can of mace or buy her a gun. She needs protection. Good luck, I hope she stays safe and well.
