This card is getting bashed a lot on most the sites I frequent due to it's 320 ram. I must say. I stepped up from a 7950gt 256. This card rocks. Runs amazing, looks amazing.

Maybe the ram will be an issue. I only game at 1440x900 on my hanns-g lcd (which I love). I hope it is not too significant of an issue.

But as for now I really am amazed with this card.

I was as well. Until it died, although, I'm happy with the 640 eVGA rmaed me as well as the second 320 they accidentally sent me too.

Glad you are enjoying yours. :)

The people bashing this card have a 7950 or something and are upset that they can't afford an 8800 card because of their bad timing...

I have a 320mb 8800GTS and it's been *great*. Rarely I will have to disable AA in a game for it to run nicely (60fps+), but it doesn't happen often, and even when it does I barely notice the difference at 1920x1200.

Great for me too, at $250 why not??? I'll use the $100 I saved from bypassing the 640 version and put it towards a really good card in a year or so....

:)

It's these Nvidia shill like you that give a bad name to Nvidia.

Not at all - it's people like Dvae Baumann running around suggesting that things like _PP isn't really part of the DX9 specification (and encouraging ATi supporters to parrot such suggestions) is what give nvidia a bad name...

AGREED! The only games I haven't been able to run at max settings 1680x1050 60+fps are Oblivion and Stalker and I've seen 768MB 8800 GTXs posting with the same issue.

Depending on R600 though, I may dump the 8800 assuming it's ~$400, faster than a GTX, and still overclockable. Only time will tell...

me too. i play oblivon maxed out with 8xCSAA and 16xAF at 12x10. runs smooth as butter. only times problem occur is when its exceeds my lowly 1gb ram. hope next month's paycheck resolves that problem :p

i agree that for the price there is nothing on the market that comes close. especially now that we've seen what a disspointment the 8600 series is.

Glad to hear your having a good experience ... I think the 8800GTS 320 is hands down the best deal in the upper mid-range GPU market right now.

I sprung for the 640mb myself, but I probably would have been just as happy with the 320mb. I agree though, I see a lot of people bashing it saying it can't run at high resolutions with lots of AA/AF...but most people have a 1280x1024 monitor, and at that resolution its going to awesome. Then when you point that out, they say "we don't know how future dx10 games are going to run with that little memory!" as if what may possibly occur with games that are a year out at least is some huge consideration.

The fact is, its an excellent buy for your average user. If you've got a giant LCD and need full AA/AF it may not be for you, but don't make the mistake of projecting your needs onto everyone.
