The auction was going to be on April 7th (Saturday). April 6th (Friday) is good Friday. April 8th (Monday) is Easter. Do you think that there will be a poor turnout if it is on this Saturday? I know that Friday would be, and Sunday (Easter) would be a bad turnout, but what about Saturday? I know the whole weekend is supposed to be a "holy weekend," but now I am starting to think twice about this date.
the date cannot be any earlier, and it cannot be the next Saturday because it is Spring Break.
If I cannot have it on that Saturday, then it will have to be on the Saturday after break, April 28th. But I really don't want to have it so late. We need to have this auction, then another fund raiser soon after. I supposed I could just make it on a weekday before the 7th, but I thought weekdays would have a lower turnout.
What is your opinion?

What kind of auction is it? Who is it advertised for? What sort of people do you hope to attend?

I'd think something on an weekday evening would be better since lots of people value their weekends as the tiem to do stuff around the house.

Don't do it around there.. tons of people go on spring break before, durring and after that. You will have a poor turn out.

It will be a silent auction. Advertised for our High School Junior class (prom, graduation, etc.) We have no preference for those who attend. Realistically though, I doubt many teens would go. I see it as the majority of participants being only adults.

To combat the possibility of having very few people, I am considering making the auction as only part of the event. With the auction we will have tables set up with parents selling baked goods for a bake sale. I also would like to add some other "activity" to it. I am not sue what it would be, but something that would draw more people in.
