Edit: Neverind. I have resolved the issue.

Ok. I just sold one of my stuff on e-Bay. This person says he lives locally, and would like to pay by check.

Why am I so worried that he's a criminal or someone trying to get info or something?

Probably because he actually used the "Buy Now" feature to buy the thing for a higher price than any other item of that type is going for. A lot more. This makes me very suspecious.

He also wanted to pick it up first. I said no. Then he asked for my address to mail the check to. Stupidly, I gave him my home address. This was yesterday morning. I have not received an e-mail since.

Should I be worried that he's doing something malicious, or is my imagination just too active?

Hmm, If you do get the check, hold the item you sold for 10 days allowing time for the check to clear. Once that is done, if he/she still wan't to meet, take a friend along with you to a neutral public place for the exchange. If this person is not agreeable to this, then send the check back, and repost it on e-bay after allowing time for the dust to settle. Remember, no amount of money can replace your life, and no possesion is worth your life either. If you can, get more information about this person.

I have done sales where i have met people for the transaction, but then again, I am 5'10" 280, and carry heat LEGALLY. So not much makes me nervous, but if this person does, trust your gut instinct, and play it safe with common sense.

Does he have good feedback? Is he a new user? You can get his personal info on eb@y very easily if you want.

What did you sell him? If it is something of real value, maybe he wants to rob you thinking you have more goodies. If it is something unique and hard to come by, maybe he just likes the idea of getting it from someone who is conveniently close by, so if he has a problem he knows where to go for a solution.

Heres what you do meet him at a store parking lot near your house and when you see him drive up run over to his car and shot him five times befor he can get out. remember it is better to shot first and ask questions latter.......

If you get the check and it is drawn on a local bank, go to the nearest branch and cash it. You can even arrange to meet him at the bank. If not then meet at a nice public location. One not to far from the local P.D. wouldnt be bad.

suggest to meet him at a park and go there holding up a M4 clearly in view (remember, carrying a concealed weapon is a crime :) ).
