So I finally got my new tubes and tires put on my bike ..

I don't remember just sitting on the seat being painful :(

Dunno if it's the 40 someodd pounds or 8 years that I've added since I last rode it.

I wonder how many taint-crunching miles I will have to ride to drop 40 pounds. Don't even want to think of it. Oh well. At least it's a start.

Hey man, at least you ARE doing something about it. That's more than most Americans can say.

Congratulations on coining the most disgusting phrase I've heard yet today. ;)

That's not ridiculously overweight (especially considering I have literally subsisted on fast food for the past decade), but the problem is I used to be 180 last time I rode this thing :D

except the second floor of an apartment complex where you don't want to upset your downstairs neighbors or give them the wrong idea ;)

not eating works wonders. i lost 10 real pounds and 3 inches off my waist in two weeks during the summer. didn't have time to eat regularly due to new job, so ate maybe one meal a day. i was amazed.

Heck, last year when I was too busy to think of what to eat, I used to visit McDonalds regularly, I usually only had one big tasty and fries at a time, but I tell you, after half the year of visiting the damn place I started feeling like I was freaking 50 even though I'm not anywhere close to that yet. You don't realize this food kills you the first day, it takes some time. Now I eat regular business lunches and feel waaay better, and even more so when I don't eat at all.

Just go for it, in 2 weeks you'll feel tons better and will have already lost a few pounds. The sooner you start, the sooner your taint won't have to bleed.(Man that sounds gross)

LOL! I'm 29, 6'1", and 260lbs. and I decided to take up bicycling 3 weeks ago. I've been riding an average of 60 miles a week for the last three weeks, and guess what happened?

I gained five pounds.

My gf says there is no real change in my eating habits, if anything I'm taking in less calories since I haven't gone out drinking at all during that time (which I used to do at least 2x/week before I started biking).

I guess the extra weight is muscle mass. It sure has been easier getting up hills these last couple days...
