I just got a Treo 600 and Blackberry 7250 off eBay - both at a great price. I know have to decide which one I keep and which one the wife gets.

Any recommendations? If it matters, the BB will come with more accessories.

I have zero experience with BB but I do love my Treo 650. Does Blackberry have the software library of Palm? Probably not. Also, AFAIK BB does not support any multimedia or gaming.

Blackberries are for work, not play. ;)

That, and they run a Java-based OS, which will inherently suck for any sort of fast-paced gaming.

Woo! A new high score, 9!

Edit - And I'm still eyeing that Zod, I have to stop being such a lazy ass and find out more info on the SDK. Did Tapwave ever completely release it?

Gaming is irrelevant, but playing MP3 might be a plus...

I am not sure that the WAF is very high on the Blackberry. I suppose a bluetooth headset might fix that...

It could, just don't let her turn into one of those idiots you see wandering around with the damn thing on their ear all day. :p

Oh, and if she's a text-message fiend, she'll love it.

She's neither. She works from home and uses the cell less than I do. She is interested in a PDA phone mostly for research purposes related to her work (and a possible development project analyzing PDA email rendering she has planned.

I've never had any experience with the Blackberry phones. That said, I LOVE my 700P Treo. I use it as a Mp3 player, sync it with my work exchange, emails (home, gmail and work) and tons of other things. There's some great free apps out there for the treo also.

Sounds like you're going to be giving up the Treo then. ;)

If it's related to work, maybe she can get a work-approved one on their dime? :D

Yeah, they did, but you had to be a registered developer with them to receive it. There might be a small chance you can perhaps get one nowadays.

Arr, Matey. I bet thar be a torrent about these IRSeas. ;) If the developer went under, I've got no moral qualms about getting my mitts on the SDK through those channels. :p

Perhaps you can find a copy from such sources, but if I remember correctly, the binary that you run on the Zod hardware is tied to that specific hardware, and Tapwave had to issue you a custom binary through their developer program.

Their site isn't working for me at the moment, so I can't login to my developer's account and check on this, but like I said, I'm pretty sure it's tied to a specific piece of hardware (unless it's been cracked since then).
