I have RLS and it wakes up my wife (light sleeper) at night on our current bed, so we decided to get a memory-foam mattress. I've read up on the threads we've had here on Temperpedic mattresses, but the prices are horrendous (i.e. cost of a small car haha). We went to Bob's Discount Furniture today and tried out the knockoff "Bob-O-Pedic" and actually really liked it. As annoying as the commercials are, the store is actually pretty cool.

Anyway, we ended up getting a split memory foam mattress...WITH A REMOVE CONTROL!!!1!11! MY BED HAS BATTERIES! It has built-in massage for your feet and back, plus you can adjust your feet and bed. For less than half the price of a Temperpedic. I've read up on the pros and cons of the bed; Bob's has a 30-day free pickup/return policy on the bed, so it won't be any hassle to get rid of if we really don't like it.

Yay for sleep.

Cliff's:
1. Old bed was bad
2. Got a foam bed
3. New bed has remote control ftw!

Glad you went with the "knock off" memory foam bed. My dad owns a mattress company and we sell memory foam beds. We buy the same foam, from the same company as tempurpedic does, BUT we sell for less than 1/3 of the price.

Tempurpedic is an insane ripoff, think of the simple economics, they aren't selling that many with the prices they put on them, and they have to pay off all those commercials somehow... do the math. Ridiculous pricing for massive profit at the expense of the consumer thinking they are getting something "exclusive."

yea the first time i saw that commercial i didn't now what to think. The best part is at the end of it, where they talk about the side effects of the pill. That thing is nuts

Depends on what you mean by "real". Do some people move their legs around more than others while trying to get to sleep? Yes. Is it some terrible crippling disorder which can only be surmounted by the noble and generous pharmaceutical companies? NO!

It's just like acid reflux...based on the commercials you'd swear that the condition was worse than a lobotomy combined with a quadruple amputation. Of course, the side effects of acid reflux meds aren't nearly as bad, so even if they overstate the discomfort it's still worth it for many people.

Yeah the "Power Bob" Bob-o-pedic (awesome name haha) came with the beds, motorized boxsprings, and stand supports, plus we got the slipcover things for each bed, for 1/2 the price of Temperpedic. I'm really hoping we like it because while our current Serta Pillowtop is comfy it's no good for light sleepers.
