Happened again. I was in a supermarket parking lot and headed to the exit. Then ahead of me I see someone is a Honda Accord approach a stop sign. My side does not have a sign so I proceed forwad. Suddenly she lurches forward and I do my best to swerve out of the way. I nearly succeeded but she clips the right rear wheel. We stop to exchange insurance information. She asks why I ran the stop sign. I point and tell her to show me which stop sign I ran. Then she become really apologetic when she realizes she is at fault for failing to yield right of way. She tells me she will pay for all repairs but I am still annoyed.
A summary of what my car has been through.
1) Neighbor missed her turn and nearly hit my left front. Had to swerve and took out right mirror against support pillar. She paid for the mirror and thankful it was cheaper than an airbag deployment
2) Ex damages driverside door by opening it against a fire hydrant. Fixed later.
3) Faculty members at work moving large picnic table and one lost his grip. Dented rear tailgate. School didn't pay up but the tailgate was damaged in accident #6.
4) Student on test drive loses control and clips right rear rim. Student pays for damage eventually
5) Old farts in land yacht clips left rear while I am at a stop light. They take off.
6) Woman on cell phone didn't notice I stopped for a bus cutting into my lane and slams into left rear
7) I was sitting at red light, van loses control and slams into left front.
8) Today. Woman runs stop sign and clips right rear rim.
What sucks is every accident I am in I am the bystander. Before anyone give me crap about being a bad driver I have to say that everyone I know tells me I am the most in control driver they have ever met. I have driven vehicles from forklifts, sportscars and family sedans up to trucks and 18 wheelers. In half of the above accidents was not even in motion.
I think it is time to get rid of this car.
