Okay, maybe I should say 2.4B!
1.65V for only 3.1Ghz (173X18)???? that's only 700Mhz increase w/ 0.125V increase!!!!!!

I had a 1.6A running 2.4Ghz @ 1.65V too........and that's 800Mhz increase w/ only .05V increase.

why are you guys seems so happy w/ 2.4B?

Umm... 3.1GHz is a great overclock and so is 2.4 for the 1.6A. Are you using air cooling and what mobo and ram are you using?

Are you seriously upset that you can "only" get 700MHz o/c???? :Q I'd take that o/c myself...

Definantly, TimeKeeper must be a little off. AMD people are happy at a 400MHz overclock.

I feel for you TimeKeeper I certainly missed my 1.8A@2.66 1.525v when my recently purchased 2.4B C1 won't even go above 2.7! Hm... but then again it could be the P4PE AGP/PCI lock issue that I just learnt in another thread give that a try tonight... Fingers crossed.

well...its just..hmm..................I was hoping to get at least 800mhz out of this CPU.
I am using Abit BE7 non-raid.
And VT PC2700 RAM

Although, it will post @ 3240 (18X180), but I am not going to go higher than 1.65V though...:(
And I am sure my RAM can handle it, as it run 200Mhz on my nForce2 mobo.

Actually, my XP1700 (1.47Ghz) is happily running at 2.1Ghz. That's also close to 700mhz increase.

p.s. I use stock cooling for Intel
I use Dr.Thermal's HS + 60-80mm adaptor + 80mm fan.
I can't stand loud noise..

Isn't that a .15V increase?

Neither can I. I found a nice combo. Alpha 8942 and a Panaflo L1A. Very cool and Very quiet.

I went from a 1.6A @ 2.4 @ 1.675 Vcore to a 2.4B @ 3.06 @ 1.55 Vcore and am very happy with it. To get that last extra 100 MHz usually needs a bunch more Vcore. I'm keeping my Vcore low this time. The small increase in MHz is not worth it.

LOL! :D I was thinking the same! Its hard to get a 50% overclock when you start @ 2.4 GHz and 533 FSB! $160 for 3GHz+ is not such a bad deal.
