"I Am Not A Crook" - Nixon . . .

Past you bedtime, kid. Let the grown-ups talk.

I do.

Were you even born then?
Yes. We are called adults.

Want to talk about that scumbag LBJ ?
Not really, though there are disturbing parallels between Vietnam and Iraq. That's really a topic for another thread, and it has already come up in those threads.

Re. this topic, there was an article about it in this morning's paper. I always wondered how and when Nixon got involved. Was he in it from the beginning -- seems consistent with his character -- or did he truly get sucked in only once the cover-up started? Not sure I'm willing to take Magruder's word for it though. I'd like to hear some corroboration.

IMO, Nixon was the third worst President in my lifetime following behind Johnson and the current. Not a good person.

Well since I had twice voter for this scumbag I for one felt betrayed.
I find that this is the historical point in time that politics de-volved into filthy dirty tactics.

I was shocked by how many of those creepy crawlies came back to join the Ray-Gun machine,
then went on to become the nucleus of the Bush Cabal. Their history runs deep.
Too bad so many people are to youg to remember and to unlearned to know.

Ignorant means the same as unlearned, some don't get it either way.

I think you mean "American" politics, because if you think politics just then turned into filthy dirty tactics then I suggest you take a history course or two.

I know what you mean though and I agree.

What else would I have been implying except for American Politics ?
Nixon was the American President, and every race since then has been
one of no substance and constant bombardment of sullshit sound bytes.
The power of television. Nixon first lost to Kennedy by his Television presence,
or in that particular election his lack of effective use of the TV media.
