I am new to wireless routers.. bought a Dlink Gamerlounge, need help.

The signal is extremely low (20% - 30%)

I am in a different room then the router itself. Someone told me to take it back and get a Wireless-N instead of a Wireless-G (which is what the current router is)

Would that help? Thanks!
 
The router may not be the culprit. What wireless device are you using to connect to the router? Built-in laptop card? USB adapter? PCI card?

I don't think wireless-n is a standard yet, and for just being in a different room I'm not so sure just switching the router out will solve the problem.
