interview was at 9:15
my brain was not functioning so I completely fuxxed it up

I've had a lot more success with afternoon interviews when I go last or second to last... lesson learned.

i always recommend interviewing first, or before other candidates. you interview first, and then other people have to steal the job from you - it's better than trying to win the job from other people

If you're among the last interviewed, you're freshest in the interviewer's mind.

A lot of recruiters/hiring managers don't automatically pick the first interviewee as the baseline from which all others are judged. In fact, unless they are spectacular, I usually don't remember much about them.

I'm not aware of ever having interviewed for a job the same day as another candidate.

Heh, you'll have fun if you go for an all-day interview session thing. Get there at 7:30-ish and don't leave until 3:30... it's practically a work day! :)

Yea, morning interviews suck. I hate the nervousness and rushed feeling of making it there on time. I like afternoon interviews.

Speaking of which, I have an interview this afternoon at 4:30pm.

morning interviews are very terrible for me. Afternoon ones seem to work out, although not directly after lunch. afternoon like 2ish or 3ish.

Wait... you're applying for a job where (presumably) you'll have to work in the mornings... but you can't function well enough in the morning to do well on the interview?? Geeezz.

I agree. You should be at the top of your game regardless and ready for it. Wake up early, go for a run. Eat a hearty breakfast. Something. 9:15am isn't that early anyway

FTW! 9:15 is a late start even.

I don't even have to be in to work until 9:00. If I have an interview scheduled at 9:15, I'm not going to be fully attentive.

Agreed. It's no excuse to "not be awake" at an "early" interview. Do what you need to do to wake up and be alert. If you can't do that, then you either don't want it very badly or you are lazy.

Please, most don't do work in the mornings. I don't recall ever doing any serious work before 10-ish at any of my jobs.

Hmmm..... hope my meter is just out of batteries ;)

Interviewers should schedule interviews at 7AM or something, that way you can tell if the candidate really wants the job or not. If they come in looking like they have a hard time being awake at that hour, move on to the next person.

I wake up at 5AM each day and I'm at work by 7AM. 9AM is "early"?

I am almost positive he's serious, which is hilarious and sad all at once.

I had an interview at 9 am and I frikin nailed it. Got an offer the next day. I normally wake up 11-noonish since my current job is so flexible. You just have to "get your head in the game."

I can vouch that a LOT of IT folk don't get anything meaningful done before 9-10.

PS - Yes, 9AM is early.
