I am never buying Kingston memory again

got 2 sticks from the Outpost deal about 3 months ago. I just ran memtest86 on them after I noticed weird things on my system... BOTH of 'em are bad. I tested them one by one... underclocked to 166mhz and still bad in the same spots.

I call Kingston Support and guy tells me they don't guarentee anything on the HyperX series, even if you underclock it.

RMA'd both.... picked up a cheapo stick of DDR3200 from best buy running it now. (Memtested that one just to make sure it wasn't my system, passed 100%).

RMA'd both.... picked up a cheapo stick of DDR3200 from best buy running it now. (Memtested that one just to make sure it wasn't my system, passed 100%).

Kingston has a lifetime warranty just like Crucial. You probably want to call back and talk to someone else.

Many people reported getting refurbised or used hyperx memory from outpost.Mine looked good but the contacts looked like they had definitely been installed in a board ( scraped up) and was in generic plastic packaging,not kingston retail packaging..

Mine is ok so far.I also have some kingston value memory that has been fine for years.Don't fault kingston for outpost's shady deal.

the memory was brand new in the box. both the box and memory was sealed and that should mean it's direct from kingston.

at any rate, ordered some Corsair from newegg.

i got the kinston value ram from the outpost deal, retail boc and everything, running sweet for me, also should you memory test everytime u get newq memory??? never done it before cus it takes hours

well in my case I got errors in the first 5 minutes!

I've purchased four sticks of their pc2700 value ram over the past few years and have had to RMA 3 of them, you'd think I would have learned, but I guess I'm a glutton for punishment I'll be trying Crucial or Mushkin next time.

I bought a dual channel kit of ValueRAM from Amazon and it wouldn't even run at rated speed without causing BSOD. They had Kingston chips on them.

I bought the same model from Kingston direct with Hynix chips a year ago and it works great even overclocked.
