I am loosing clipboard information?

Lets say I cut or copy some text to move to another document. When I get to the document, or page, I right click but the is no paste option and I lost my clipboard.

If I did copy then I just do it again, but if I did cut then I just lost whatever I just cut if it was unsaved.

I also encountered similar problem with files. I copy a file, and when I try to paste the is no paste option.

Any ideas?

I really don't know what is going or what I could be doing to see this problem all of sudden. I am frustrated because I did loose some unsaved text, but I also did not do anything that could have cleared the data as far as I know.

Thanks

That's an odd error. Before under Ubuntu I used to 'lose' the info in clipboard if I closed the source of the copied data - like if I copy a URL then close Firefox and try to paste it the data would be gone. That problem 'fixed' itself though.

Specifically, I was writing a post on these forums. I cut out the post to Outlook to run a spell check before sending. I cut it from the IE, go to Outlook which is already open I try to paste and I have nothing.

Both programs remain open and untouched. Is there any known event or occurrence that clears the clipboard? I don't cut/copy and wait, I do it quickly so only a several second window at most.

Are you sure the type of data you're passing between the two programs is compatible? I suggest watching the NT clipboard monitoring program (type "clipbrd" in start menu run). Maximize the clipboard child window and watch what happens (if it gets cleared, etc) when you try to copy/paste.
