I am looking for a new laptop

I am looking for a new laptop.....and wondering if you all have any tips on what to avoid/look for.
I would like to spend under $750.
I really only need it for basic internet searches, and maintaining my bands website.....but it would be cool to do some gaming, audio recording or video editing.

You should get a good idea of what you want beyond the specs, since unlike a desktop you need to more so look at it as whole machine.

What do you want in terms of size, weight, build (aesthetics, durability), input/output, display size, display resolution etc. There isn't necessarily a right or wrong choice for these considerations and is a personal choice.

How important is a GPU for you? This would depend on the type of gaming you do and how much of your other software requires it (not familiar with video editing workloads).

$750 Very good budget:

I would get a Core i5 with a Nvidia GPU or AMD GPU
There are Core i7s but no discrete GPUs and for gaming not good.
