I am looking for a good MP3 convertor program

I am looking for a program to both rip music cds and also a program that will convert mp3 format to wav. What is good besides Digital Audio Copy?

There is NO way possible to convert MP3 back to the quality of the original CD. MP3 throws out over 80% or more of the original data (depending on encoding bit rate), and that data can never be reconstructed. I don't care if some program claims that it can do it, it is in fact impossible.

To make MP3's from CD, use EAC and LAME. Both are free. Set up EAC using the "wizard" and you will have excellent-sounding MP3's.

To convert MP3 back to .wav, just use Winamp's .wav writer plugin. It works great and is free. But remember that if your MP3 sounds crappy then so will the .wav file.
