I am going to prison in May

I just learned that I will have to go to the North Fork Correctional Facility in Sayre, Oklahoma in May.


I will be there for a few hours for a deposition. I am hoping there will not be a riot while I am there.

I wonder if they will have wireless internet available. If so, I will try to post from there (unless that is a violation of some law 😉 ).


Have you ever been in a prison (other than Alcatraz), either as a "guest" or a visitor? What is it like?

I've never been in one. I did have a dream that I had to go once though, it was actually quite freaky. First I had to attend a court session within the jail building, followed by the sentancing. I woke up before the sentancing though.

Nope, never been inside a prison in my entire life for any reason.

I have been deposed (in a private law firm) and given testimony in front of a judge and jury in a court of law though.

It's terrible people arrested for non-violent felonies get this as punishment.

I was at the OLD Mansfield State prison in Mansfield, OH, which is the building they used for filming Shawshank Redemption

Didnt go inside, just saw it from outside, its a pretty sweet building.

There's like, NO AT&T service out near sayre/weatherford. You may get 1/2 bars in and out as long as you're outside but it's far from reliable. Apparently its about only alltel out there
