Prison, no. Jail, yeah - a couple of them (also work related).

I would be willing to bet that there are places in the AT&T corporate headquarters where the signal drops out. Their coverage is atrocious.

As a contractor I have been to a couple of different prisons, one medium security and one minimum security. Neither had any wifi, and neither allowed us to carry cell phones while in the prison. For one of our longer projects, they arranged for a hard line telephone for our use so we could order concrete and arrange for other material deliveries.

They were not nice places to even visit.

I wonder if I will be allowed to bring my laptop, as I usually neff take notes on it during depositions.

My guess would be no, unless there is information on it that will need to be presented during your deposition, you may want to clarify this before you go.

Got your chastity belt all ready?? ;)

I got pulled over one time coming off the Richmond-San Mateo Bridge, right by San Quentin bridge, about 12:30AM on a Sunday morning......but I made certain to pull off to the side of the road AFTER the exit!! :sneaky:

I love the "Do not pick up hitchhikers" signs around there.

They should say "Do not pick up hitchhikers in orange jumpsuits".

I've visited 3 or 4 prisons in England and Ireland and a juvenile detention center here in the US. They are not pleasant visits. Depending on the guards that are with you, it can feel tense or it can feel just very serious. The youth facility was the only time I was around someone that was upbeat about where they were. lol.

Visited a friend once, they didn't have wireless in the one I went to. Also, the security process there is kinda a PITA, sorta like when you go to the airport...

Other than the visitors area, you won't be allowed cell phone or laptop. Don't carry any change or other metal odds and ends (including gum wrapped in foil). Wear a belt without a metal buckle so you don't have to take it off.

I've been in a county jail to visit a cousin that kept on getting arrested for heroin.

He was finally able to get his act together, he's been out of jail for 4 years now and has stayed clean.

oh just for a few hours... I though you were going to be someones b1tch 4 a while...
You can get a lot done in a few hours... or you can get a lot done to you in a few hours.

It's too early to rule anything out.

Crime doesnt pay, unless you are Goldman Sachs trying to bring down the worlds' economies by knocking down the first domino in the housing crises or helping Greece cover up massive debts with shell games. Or how about forcing Uncle Sam to cover your bets against AIG and then taking bail out money and temporarily declaring yourself a "bank holding company" to avoid certain capital requirements?

Because then you are "too big" and "too connected" to prosecute.
