I am going to mod my XBOX

Nocturnal

Lifer
I'm going to be using the Xecutor 2.3b Lite mod chip with the pin method.

Anyone else use this chip as well as the pin method? Was it easy/hard? Did you mess up? Thanks!

Going to do it as soon as my mod chip gets here. I'll let you know how it goes. v1.0 w/ xecuter 2.3b lite.

PM me if you have any specific questions. I modded mine a couple months back, and it was also my first solder job

it was a pretty easy procedure, but it being my first soldering job made it a tad difficult. but if you have any experience soldering, it should be easy. i didn't mess up cause im using it right now 😀.

good luck, and you'll be VERY pleased!

As far as talking about it on this msg board? I'm positive it is. I've seen a few threads regarding mod chips. I have not said anything regarding using it for illegal purposes, which I have no intention on doing.

i have a modded xbox but a coworker of mine did it for me. it is the single best electronic toy I ever purchaced XBMC alone makes it worth it

I've done about 5 boxes with that chip. The pin header is easy on the boxes that don't have the lpc holes filled with solder(v1 does have them filled), but its still not that badif they are filled, just a little more time consuming.

ive done over a dozen, its really easy, i like xenium ice better, but that is just preference, remember to relock your drive if you want to go on xbox live
and always look to xbox-scene.com if you have questions
and efnet on IRC channels, xbins xbins-help xbins-chat and xecuter

If you don't want all the bells and whistles on it, the aladdin advance is a good way to go. I am going to get some of the duox2's soon, had lots of good luck with the duo1 chips for ps2's that I figure these are probably pretty good too.

Good luck, and the job isn't too bad.

If your LPC isn't filled in, pinheader is very easy to solder. Also since you'll have the motherboard out anyway, use the D0 that's on the back, its bigger than the D0 on the front so it'll be easier to solder.

Just make sure everything you're going to solder has been cleaned and fluxed. It'll make soldering much easier.

I've modded 3 boxes using the TSOP method w/ a conductive pen.
Works great & don't have to worry about screwing the box up - unless the flash goes wrong. Which is a non-issue as long as you're using the right software & the power doesn't go out.

If you've ever flashed a BIOS & know the very basic's of networking, it can be accomplished without a sweat.

very simple procedure imo .

did wired with pro. also upgraded to 160gig hdd.

very happy with results. using XBMC more than the games 🙂

my PC is more for games 🙂

XBox is pretty easy to mod - just be careful with XBox live, you can get banned.

Now the PS2 . . . ugh . . .

Modded mine last week with the Xecutor 2.3b Lite. Can't go wrong for $30. It's pretty easy, even the D0 point people always bitch about. The only hard part is tracking down the BIOS, Dashboard, apps, etc you need. #Xbins to the rescue!

Also installed a 160GB Seagate while I was at it. Cool stuff.
