I ran two minutes late to my meter and see the brain surgeon writing my ticket. Of course I am pissed and don't say anything to her and wait for her fat arse to get off my driver's side door as she was writing down my registration info.

2 minutes later I had a ticket, which she so generously handed to me. Of couse I check the ticket out it says on the bottom:

I affirm under penalty of perjury that I personally observed the offense charged above; If the operator was present I indicated the operator's name or indicated 'ID refused" and personally served the notice to him/her......

She did no such thing plus she signed it. She is going to be doing some hard time lol.

Doesn't the bold part just mean that she gave the ticket to you? I think in this case you're the operator.

The way I see it, is that the operator (the OP) wasn't present when she first started initially writing the ticket.

So she'd get off scott-free on a technicality, and he'd probably be out a day or two of pay for having to testify in court.

I figure i'd plead not guilty and do the internet trial. Then worst comes to worst pay the ticket.

What a whiney little bitch you are, I hope the cadre of parking officials murders you to death. Yea, I said murders you to death.

You were over the limit. You say 'two minutes' here, but I bet it was longer. Pay your fine and stop being such a goddamn idiot.

Oh and you weren't there when the offense was made(when the meter ended), you were there as she finished writing the ticket. Take it to court and watch the judge laugh at you.

God I hate parking tickets more than anything but I hate people like you more.

Gee, isn't that there to protect THEM when you try to say "what ticket?" That way you can't ignore it and say that you never knew about it.

If the founding fathers of this country gave in as easy, we'd all still be speaking English.

I say fight the system.

Nope, there is more to it that says something like: if the operator isn't present/refused the ticket, I put the ticket on his windshield.

How will you prove that the meter maid saw you? Do you have photos? Or is it your word against hers? If it is yours vs hers, I bet I know who the court will trust.

I'm not going to have to go to court. It's like a mail or internet thing. If I had to go to court, I wouldn't waste my time.

But yeah, she could lie.

Then how on Earth are you going to prove that a meter maid saw you?

dude, you weren't in the car in the entire time she was writing the ticket, you might be the owner of the car, but you are not the operator.
