I don't like my boss much, but I try and get along the best I can.
But his stupidity today has taken the cake, the senile old bastard changed my schedule and didn't tell me. I was suposed to be in at 8:30 this morning, I get there and one my co-workers asks why I was there and then informs me I am not suposed to be there until 11 AM. So I just wasted 45 minutes in commuting and in gas.
He is going to get a new one ripped for him when I go back to work later.

Since you people MUST have you stupid update here it is:
When my boss finaly got to work I had cooled down quite a bit, but still lit into him a bit. No yelling, screaming or cussing. He "swore" that he had given me a copy of the schedule after he had changed it . In any case I am a pathetic loser. You may now make fun of me as you wish. Continue neffing.

Screw that. I would have stayed an worked a normal shift. Especially if I had that kind of commute.

Thankfuly he can't do that, he needs me there too much.
And my total commute was 45 minutes not an hour and a half.

True, but it would make it very very hard for my workplace to function with me gone.

Sorry to hear that. I've been there myself and learned to take with a grain of salt. Some people can be absent minded at times I know I am. :)

Hey, two weeks' notice from today is Sept. 30th. Why not?

I have nothing else lined up, and that would leave me in a very bad position.
I guess I should start looking though.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to just stay and work? Either leave after 8 hours or work until scheduled quitting time and get some overtime.

Probably, but I was so pissed off at the time I didn't want to be there.

Funny how almost everyone seems to think that about their job... but yet thousands of people get $hitcanned every day.

There are a total of 5 people that I work with, its a fairly small office, there are basicaly two shifts, opening and closing. Myself and one other coworker are the only people that know the procedures for both. Two other co workers know how to do one or the other, and my boss can do neither and has no initiatve to learn how to. The coworker that knows how to do both has stated plainly he will be leaving at the end of the year. If I left or was fired they would be screwed.

Even if they made me leave, I would have just left and slept in my car or something. I've done it before.

You work retail and you were supposed to open I assume?
