... I am going to buy a NEW car. Corolla S

Aimster

So I have a BMW X5 now. Every option. Perfect condition... but the thing is so unreliable. Every week I have to fix something on it.

It worries me every time I drive it "what if the transmission goes out". $5,000 right there.

So I decided that tomorrow I am going to take advantage of the 0% and get a brand new Toyota Corolla S with the 400 Watt audio system for $17,250.

... putting luxury aside for a worry free drive.

So anyone have anything negative to say about the Corolla S?
Kind of off-topic but are these 0% for 60 months 100% financing? That would be sweet.

Sounds like a nice choice for a cheap, reliable car. + it is the sport edition. 🙂
If it were your primary car, I am sure a bunch of people here would jump on you (corolla is so boring) but I'll let it slide.

If it were me, I'd get a new Civic Coupe though. Sexy and reliable, but a rattlebox. 🙂

No you are not. I will hack AT just to get your account banned if you do.

Get a Prius. With the gas savings it will be cheaper than the Corolla and it...won't be a corolla.

And before you say "Prius is slow and boring and gay" yes it is but let's be real the Corolla S is a desperate move. It's lipstick on a pig. Just embrace with reckless abandon the fact you've basically given up on life and just get the Prius.

Or he could get a new Civic?

I would definitely get the PRIUS over the Corolla but the PRIUS with JBL sound system is around $22,000-23,0000 and it's 4% financing with 20% down at my credit union.
That's $5,000 difference right there.

SO you own a BMW X5 but apparently can't afford to maintain it. Which means you couldn't afford the X5 to begin with.

Classic.

The Corolla is a horrible drive compared to the X5. Do some test driving of all the econo-boxes out there.

A Mazda 3 would actually be reliable and sporty as opposed to a toaster and I believe they have some good financing as well right now

why the S? how much is it over the base? why pay extra for some fugly body pieces? just get an audio system installed yourself.

Overstock shows $14622 for my area for the Corolla S auto with JBL system. If you pay anywhere near $17K you're getting screwed.

Does anyone research their purchases any more?

Another suggestion for Mazda 3 (previous gen) or Ford Fusion (current or previous gen). Admittedly I haven't driven a Corolla myself, but I've been in a passenger one (S trim, even) several times, and both the cars I mentioned feel far better. The only car I tried that I really liked over the Mazda 3 and the Fusion was the Altima, but the price was significantly higher.

Ok
I went and tested the Mazda 3. I believe it was the basic one with the BOSE. It didn't say 2.5 on the back.
I wasn't familiar with it so I didn't buy it. Need to do more research.

However, I am getting the Mazda3 over the Corolla. It totally owns it.

I need your help. Besides Edmunds how do I find out what price to get it for?
Thanks!

ahh wow I hate you guys!

Now im really wanting a MAZDA3 grand touring 22k for HID/BOSE/Leather/ ...
Look what you made me do.
