Before you purchase that i5 3470, you might want to know that it's a 3rd Gen i5 and is not compatible with your 4th Gen socket motherboard.

RX 570 would be a good buy. But the i5 3470 will not be compatible with your current board. They are different sockets. ^

Has the OP been edited? As it reads now, he plans on buying a 4th-Gen (Haswell) i3-4150 (unfamiliar with that SKU), which is socket 1150, and an H61 mobo, which is a socket 1155 (3rd-Gen).

So @daveybrat 's post, while effectively correct, is also backwards?

Am I reading this right?

Edit: OP, you need an H81 mobo, or H87, or B85, or Z87/Z97 mobo for a 4th-Gen Haswell CPU.

OP, I have an Asus z170-a board sitting at home.
I'll be happy to send it to you for free + shipping.
I'm never gonna use it.
Call it a welcome to Anandtech gift. PM me.
If you want it.
Looks like a 6600k used is like $100.
Just add a used rx470 or gtx970 for under $100 and your all set.

OP, that is an excellent deal and very generous offer. You would just need to buy a CPU for the Z170 board and DDR4 RAM. As far as used cards, I would also consider cards such as R9 Fury or R9 390/290 in good condition, as long as your PSU and case supports it. They can typically be had for around $100 depending on the card. Fury may be a bit more.

Unless i am mistaken it already appears the op has a H81 or similar deal if he is using a i3-4130. I had a 4460 with a 1070ti and i had a reasonable bottleneck.

If you got the 4130 i wouldn't pair it with anything outside of a 1060. Will be a massive upgrade over the 750ti for sure. A i5 4690 could perhaps be a reasonable upgrade and maybe with that you could up your gpu choice to a max of a 1070. Depends on your games of course.

Happy Mediums offer is super generous and worth considering as well but its all about budget i guess too. Maybe if we knew your actively played game list and budget there could be more viable suggestions tossed your way?

Noooo, make sure it's the GTX 1060 6GB model, NOT the 3GB one.

CSGO loves cpu but i found a video showing some CSGO gameplay with a 4150 and 1050ti.

This is at 1080p with max settings btw.

I would prob grab a 1050ti and a 4690 and call it a day. This would be the most i would do given your gamelist. Alternatively you could gain a pretty reasonable framerate with a 1050 with your current cpu as well.
