I have never used cologne before, but I would like to start. Since it will be an x-mas gift, I want to get some high end stuff. Probably as high-end as you can gt for under $100.

Suggestions?
Thanks!

Lacoste in the green or red bottle scents is pretty good. Also, Versace Frache (spelling?) is pretty good too, and satisfies your high-end requirement. They'll run you $55-$75. Though I'm sure they exist, I have never seen a cologne for >$100.

oldsmoboat, do you prefer axe instead? heh, kidding.

Only if I am splitting wood.
A man should smell like a man, not a woman.
Next thing you know guys will be streaking their hair and popping their collars....

Nobody has suggested Armani's Aqua de Gio? I love that stuff.

Not a huge fan of Lacoste. My aunt insisted on buying me some before I moved for college and I gave the huge bottle away to someone once I moved down here.

Well... heres to hoping you can insult your manliness enough everyday to at least put on deodorant before work. :)

I definitely see your point though... I feel the same way about pink shirts and tight jeans.

joesmoke <------------- never thought of steaking hair ; collar firmly un-popped

The link I have provided below seems to be a good starting point.
It is from the store Sephora. They specialize in a ton of beauty and frangerence products for both men and women.

If you don't know what kind you like, have the gift-giver give you the package below. You start with a sampling of cologne then when you find one you like, you take the gift card included and get a full size bottle at the store or on line.

Excellent advice. I have had my bottle of Candies for Men since 8th grade so this year when it finally ran out I asked for cologne. We actually went to the store to pick it out. There are tons of good smelling colognes out there that just don't fit me right. Not only do YOU in particular need to like it, you need to like it ON you. Some colognes mesh better with your natural body smell than others.

This is what I ended up with: Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male.

I went with her to Ulta and tried a lot of what was suggested here, all the Armani, etc. This is what I ended up liking the most (she agreed) and what smelled the best on me. Find that for you and you are golden.

Will you be turning in your man card first?

Anything that get's you laid more often by definition makes you MORE of a man. For someone with a law named after them you sure aren't up on all the man laws, ;).

Acqua di Gio is a very safe bet. Ralph Lauren Romance and Armini Code are two others I've had that I liked a lot (or rather, my gf did, I honestly like anything as long as it doesnt smell girly).

My gf made me try a sample of some Lacoste she found in a magazine. I think I'm getting that for Christmas, but I dont remember what variety it was, so I'm little help on that one.
