I haven't been to work in over 2 months. I took short term disability because I was having some issues. Its best to leave it at that.

I think I am now doing well enough to go back, but with recent changes at my job, its best that I don't go back there. AT&T is buying my company and I don't want to deal with another changeover. Plus Circuit City is having big issues and Best Buy is pissing off more customers than ever. I decided to talk to a company I used to work for about maybe going back there. They gave me the all clear, so once the paperwork goes through I will be selling electronics and appliances again.

I think this is a good move. Anyone who has half a clue orders their cell phones online but things like TV's and Fridges, people want to see before they buy. I would be in a position to match or beat most online deals too.

So am I crazy? I could just stay at home and deal with the little money I am making or I can give this a shot and maybe make some decent money during the holidays.

ummm what money are you MAKING? You are being given money.

You know it's profitable to turn in people on disability that really can work and just choose not to. It's something many refer to as a felony.

I don't think that there is a lot of money in selling appliances and electronics.

Its still a good gig at this company. I worked there for years and made some really good money.

I am not on disability, I am on short term disability. There is a difference. This is through my insurance that I have been paying into for years. PAWS is a very real condition but it is basically self diagnosed.

Life fail.

I am 30...feels like I am older than dust.

I made some pretty big mistakes in my past. Working in sales isn't like normal retail. I know plenty of guys who make over $100k a year doing retail sales.

If you self-diagnosed, how did you get FMLA leave and STD?

My therapist suggested it and my doctor confirmed it. I said it was basically self diagnosed. There isn't exactly a test for it.

Not saying the condition you had was not legitimate, but saying you can work and choose not to to collect insurance or disability is still a felony.

QFT retail is not all being a floor drone in a department store. My wife does the Visual for a store, it pays pretty well and she enjoys it.

I know a couple young 20 somethings each pulling in $50-60k managing a retail store. The only downside is 60 hour weeks usually. Not bad for one just having a GED and neither going to college nor tech school.

I worked in Visual at Dillard's for about a year after college. I think I was the only straight man in the business.
