My girlfriend goes to school in New York, I go to school in Maryland. We have been together for almost a year and a half. We've done the long distance for a little over one full semester. I thought about marrying this girl someday...family, wife material, etc. Thats how close we were. But when I speak to her on the phone now, there is emptiness in what she says to me. Her "I love you"s and her "I miss you"s dont conjure any feelings within me. Im afraid so, that if nothing changes soon, real soon, I will leave her. I't just sad that it has to be this way.

welcome to my world... It's happening with my girlfriend and me. We've been together over 2.5 years, and I still love her, it's just that it's hard to keep the feelings when you're 3 hours away and I talk to her maybe once a week.

When was the last time you saw her?

I see her once a month...(one weekend that is) and on major holidays and school breaks (spring, winter, summer)

She says hi.

Tried long distance thing in college.

Won't work.

Out of all the highschools couples who attempted in (dozens), I believe only one survived.

Painful, but dump her.

She is coming home next Thursday for the entire weekend. I think I will be breaking up with her then. I might do it on that Friday though so I can hit it again and sleep with her one more time. But, I think Im gonna shock her on Friday. Time to move on and accept reality. Right..?

isn't that scary? when your love is fading and you are trying to convince yourself that it is not.

That's the right move.
Don't forget to get all the benefits first. ;)

Hell yes it is. We had plans for a future...marriage, family, we were perfect, and now I dont know what has happened and I keep convincing myself everyday that it will change. But it's not changing.

No offense, but you're what, 20 years old? You don't know which way to wipe your ass, let alone "what's perfect" about a relationship.

Again, no offense and I feel'ya, bud, but this kind of thing has been happening for many, many years. The date on the calendar changes but the end result doesn't.

You hooked up in high school and you both went your separate ways.

Many, many broken hearts, beers, torn condoms, introductions with Mom & Dad, lovey dovey stuff is coming just over the horizon before you actually realize the diff b/t your ass and your elbow AND what to do with said ass and elbow. :)

Good luck and don't take it so hard, OK? Yeah, she's smart and pretty...and the first pretty smile and round booty that smiles at you and says "HI!" will make you forget all about whatsherface.

This just in, I just took your gf's chocolate starfish, it felt used.

If you don't break up w/ her, she's gonna committ suicide during valentine's day.
