Hi guys, I'm getting a new desk for my new computer setup that i'm waiting for (Damn Palmomino and Geforce 3 Ti 500, hurry up already!) and want to get a bigger desk then my butchered 10-year-old desk that seems like it will break down and will once my new moniter gets here.. So I'm thinking of getting a O'Sullivan InteligentDesigns desk.. I want to get that L-Shaped one without the hutch.. you can check it out Here, just click the 10012 number on the left side. Some guy showed a pic of the same desk a long time ago in his sun room.. something to do with his klipsch speakers and it looked really cool. I can get it for $599 Canadian but probobly lower if I shop around. Does anyone have any other suggestions? And if that guy who posted that desk in his sun room might comment on it's quality that would be nice. The desk would be used solely for computer purposes and organizations (Cd's, books etc.) and should be able to last for 6-8 years.

Looks pretty good. Have you tried goign to stores that specialize in tables though? I don't know much about comp tables, I'm using an engineer's old drafting table. Rock solid with many features.

looks nice. but if you have time/skill then you should make your own.

i made my desk with wood and it basically is best for me because you customize it for your needs.
and fun as well.

Not bad, but pretty pricey for what you get (how much is that in US?) I think I've seen a very similar unit for around $400 US. You can get nice corner units for less money, or you can spend a little more and get office quality furniture. It is pretty good looking though. I really like corner units. I have one, and it is terrific.

I'd worry about the case heating up being inside the cabient......but otherwise I think it's a pretty nice looking, and definetely functional desk :)

Thanks for the opinions guys. I'm no carpenter and I have no tools to cut and paste (That's right,Paste :p) the wood together.

I was thinking of not putting the computer case inside that cabinet, but i'm getting a Lian-Li case so would it still be a problem to put it in there? If not, i'll just put it on the right inside of that leg space.

I want to get a profesional setup of a desk that will last through highschool and into college, so a cheap desk will probobly break or splinter by the time I get into college.

And for the currency difference.. well 1 american dollar is about .48 cents canadian so for $400 US it will about $637 Canadian :(

Thanks for the advice, please keep it coming, if possible! :)
