I AM FREAKING OUT

ok, so last weekend I throw a party, and someone breaks into my room and searches through my stuff, and steals my wallet....

6 hours later I figure it out, and cancel all of my cards.
$200 was charged on my moms discover card before it it was blocked (we don't have to pay anything on that)
nothing was charged to my bank/check card
nothing on the third card
also lost was my social security card, and my drivers lisence.
I was just informed that my bank totally messed up on blocking my card, and they ended up charging $600 on a card that I was told was blocked....
so now my bank account is at -$381.78, and a check I sent for my credit card bounced.

on top of that, 3 weeks ago, my car was broken into, and they stole my face-plate to my cd-player (rendering it useless), and stole over $1300 worth of CDs...and this happened right in front of my house (in what is supposed to be a good neighborhood)
I'm stressed out of my mind, I feel like destroying everything around me......
why did this crap have to happen to me.... :(:(:(:(

Not to mention, that this person is totally going to get away with it.

It's things like that that make it very hard to trust people in this world.

Okay - first of all, calm down. You did everything exactly right once you knew your wallet was stolen. Second, call your bank and GIVE THEM HELL. If the story you're telling us is completely true, it's their fault that you overdrafted your checking account. Demand that they pay the overdraft fees, and the late fee for the credit card bill, AND THE BOUNCED CHECK FEE from your credit card company. If you're not getting any help from customer service agents, DEMAND to talk to some sort of manager.

Second, try and remember EVERYONE who was at the party. Call the police and get them involved. If you remember someone being in your room, tell them about it. Leave nothing to chance, and investigate every possible scenario in which your wallet could have gotten stolen.

Good luck. I'm sorry you've got to go through something like this. But don't just sit back and take the sh!t from the bank. They owe you an apology, and they owe you money.

I would have a discussion with your bank to make sure they remedy the situation and pay for any losses. My ex-gf had this problem (can't remember what caused it) and it created a cascade of bouncing checks. (it was bill time: rent, tuition, credit card, power, phone, etc. and they all bounced) She wasn't prompt enough in trying to fix it with the bank and her credit got destroyed.

Oh yeah, and start locking your door during parties. I didn't lock my door once and a couple of friends of mine popped my air matress while screwing on it. I was more than a little miffed, not only was I disgusted, I had nothing to sleep on for a week.

what are you on about you live in a country with liberal gun ownership laws, punks like that are going to get drilled sooner or later, either by gunfire or big ron - who's in with the wardens, hehe

Try to relax. Will your bank cover their screw-up? Everything will be OK. Just don't destroy anything. It won't help.

Best of luck.
