Think about how stupid your average person is. And then realize that half of all people are dubmer than that. :Q

I forget who said that....

WRONG

That would be the median since it isn't affected by extreme values. I can't beleive I have to correct YOU of all people on this.

Web definitions for median
"Middle value" of a list. The smallest number such that at least half the numbers in the list are no greater than it. If the list has an odd number of entries, the median is the middle entry in the list after sorting the list into increasing order. If the list has an even number of entries, the median is equal to the sum of the two middle (after sorting) numbers divided by two. The median can be estimated from a histogram by finding the smallest number such that the area under the histogram to the left of that number is 50% (cf Mean, Median and Mode Discussion).

I think that with such a large sample size, the median and average would be nearly identical. Especially considering the IQ's of people are set up in a bell curve fashion

exactly what I was going to say. In a standard distribution, median=mean, or at least very, very close to it.

But in theory...., not in practice 😉

Yeah, but when the sample size becomes large enough, let's say around 6 billion, practice is theory. That's how the theories are set up (limit as sample size goes to infinity). The human race is a plenty large enough sample size to emulate theory.

the main purpose of religion is to give people something higher to believe, but i think it hard for some to believe in anything higher then them.

But did you test everyone? Anyway, I was just being anal.

I was sitting in class today and someone ask another person something and it led to where there church was. This led to the difference between Catholics and other Christians and he pretty much said "We believe more in Jesus, and we really don't believe that much in God. " . If this wasn't bad enough, they start discussing how they wish they were Baptists because their church service is much more "fun" and the get up and chant things and start waving their hands.

If you're just finally convinced, you must be among those I *know* are stupid. 🙂 😛
I always considered it basic knowledge that only 10-20% of people know.

a fellow student of mine "hates healtth class", because he disagrees that panic attacks and mental disorders have anything to do with your brain; he whole heartedly believes that it has something to do with god and religion

*sigh*

A good friend of mine is absolutely convinced his bipolar disorder/depression (and mental/emotional disorders in general) exists solely because he is lacking in some aspect of his spirituality.... rather than being caused by some chemical imbalance (a couple members of his family are slightly off as well, convincing me even futher that his genetics play a bigger role). Actually he's not quite convinced he's even bipolar...at least during the manic episodes. 😛

LOL, I was JUST about to post that.

I hate people. In general. It's funny how you can go into work with a wide variety of people and when everyone knows you're more intelligent than them, they all avoid you. Like a Chemical Engineer working at Burger King, they all know the ChemE is much more intelligent than them, so they call them the weird Employee. Thats what I call an "idiot clump" A band of morons rising up against one smart person.
