Ti4200 128mb
fx5600 128mb
fx5200 ultra 128mb

9500p vs. 9600p

which one is fastest?
correct me if i am wrong, the fx5600 is a replacement for ti4200, but not alot. fx5600 is a little faster but not all tests.
and are there more than one kind of fx5600? i am not talking about ultra or pro version. I mean i see some fx5600 can have a $50 to $60 difference because of the last letter of the model. (and i don't know what's it stand for)
ex. Albatron's Fx5600 DDR-ii, is it using a ddr 2 memory(i suppose it is faster than just ddr)? what about leaktek and asus, and etc... is it where the $50 difference go?

i get this information from a dealer website(not the official websites) so the info may not be corrected.

i will buy a videocard to play HL2 and Doom3, will these cards i mentioned do fine, what i mean fine is playing smoothly when MOST of the details are on, higher than medium but lower than max?( i will upgrade the cpu to p4 later on)

talking about 9500p and 9600p, is it just a replacement of the old 9500p? 9600p costs way cheaper than 9500p

many says radeon 9700p is still best buy, but i think the card is kinda old. looking for one to replace it. Just don't have enough to purchase a 9800p yet. but once HL2 and DM3 are out, i may consider if it is the only card to get the game running smoothly.

Let say i will buy a P4-2.8C, 512MB

thats a lot of questions there
the 9500 pro is fastest among those cards but the 9600 pro is a great overclocker and gives the 9500 pro a run for its money when BOTH are OCed
the 5600 is the 4200 replacement, it is slower than the 4200 but is DX9 compatible. there is a 5600 and a 5600 ultra which is clocked faster and there a 256 mb version of the ultra as well
no video cards are using DDR-II at the moment
9700pro is still a very sound card, it should run doom3/HL2 smoothly. 9700pro is a good choice if you want to spend $250+, 9700 NON pro is an excellent value @ $200 (mwave)

For Doom3 with high quality you'll probably want either the non-ultra version of the fx5900 (not out yet) or the 9800 non-pro (limited release so far). A 9600 Pro might be good enough, but we don't really know for sure though how well the 9600 pro will do since the one Doom3 alpha look the tech sites have had was sponsored by nvidia.

If you can, save your loons and wait for HL2 and/or Doom3 to actually hit retail (and review sites) before buying anything.

The Game will play on ur DX 8 Cards , at what resi I cant answer. They have to make they game semi playable OR They wont sell.

whats running a game smoothly? your monitors refresh rate? i think most of the "enthusiast cards" can run DOOM3 and HL2 at that speed. I was running 45fps avg. on DOOM3 Alpha with my old Ti4600

Dont take this the wrong way, but was the ATI list copyed from another post? Cos the list is very very similar and closely worded to a post of mine a while back.
The 9700pro may be old, but its probably the best price/performance card out at the moment.
The 9800np is slower than the 9700pro bty.

no, i did not copy it. nor is it based on anything that i have saw (in terms of wording or layout) i did this from my memory of the cards.
