I've got it narrowed down to a Suzuki Aerio or a Toyota Echo. This car will only be used for driving to/from work so my only concern was price and gas mileage. Both got pretty good reviews on Edmunds.com.

The Aerio is cool, since Suzuki has 0% financing right now and has more standard features than the Echo. The toyota is more expensive but gets much better gas mileage.

Anyone have experience driving either of these speckmobiles? Any other cars I should consider?

AERIO is wha tyou should buy..

So its not a toyota.. but the point is from teh price and perfromance perspective the suzuki rocks.. 140hp.. and lots of gizmo's..
I drove one, loved it.. wou ldhve bought it if i didnt get the focus (2000).

The Echo is lack lusture.. its horrid.. seats are uncomfy, the sound is horried (aerio has a clarion deck). I just liked the aerio's looks, and handling.. so much better than the echo,.... which is just an upgraded tercel. They fixed all the engine problems in the tercel.. but from what I hear they still didnt get it right. A girl I know who has the echo says its still too noisy at 60K and its got some engine trouble already.

I would go with teh aerio.. despite what every one else says.. test drive it.. you will love it....

Plus the suzuki has good reputation world wide.. and this engine is quite solid (same one in the baleno / esteem).

how about a toyota prius or honda insight? great gas milage, and you can deduce $2000(maybe $3000?) from your fed income tax.

Yes I did not consider those. Maybe the increase in fuel efficiency will offset the $7-8K more for the car. The tax deduction would not be bad either. These things seem to be hard to locate here in Nashville. But I did find an Aerio to test drive tomorrow, but it only gets 33mpg versus 60-70 for the insight.

check into the tax deduction.. as far as I know only CA offers it.. not sure if its a federal program.

anyway tell me your thoughts about the aerio.. I liked it.. and I am sure you will.

Its nice to have a car that nobody else has.
