I am building a new AMD system. I need some advice on what mother board to get. I am pretty set on getting a T-bird 1.13 Ghz 266fsb. I need to know what you think about the board. I don't know if I should get PC133 or DDR. I have read so much on those but I am still pretty confused. So if you have any advice as to what would be the best bang for the buck please let me know. Also any help on cooling and overclocking would be helpful. Thanks

Right now, the best bang for the buck would be a motherboard based on the KT133A chipset such as an Abit KT7A or an Asus A7V133. Both these motherboards (or any motherboard with the KT133A chipset) are capable of running 266fsb Athlons. I would also probably go with a 1200mhz Tbird, as chances are the L1 bridges will be unlocked (in other words not connected), and therefore overclocking through the BIOS (no need to pencil) would be relatively simple.

Just do some searches on the forum and you should be able to locate a plethora of threads dealing with tbird oc'ing.

Also forgot to mention that KT133A boards use PC133, so you won't be needing any overpriced PC2100 DDR...

I agree with the KT133A chipset. I chose to go with a T-Bird 1100 because I believe the highest multiplier on the 1.2 is 12.5 and then you have to rely on taking the FSB up.
