In March 2009, THK Photo (importers of Tokina, Hoya, Kenko) issued a price fixing agreement to all their resellers. In this agreement, they are forcing resellers to sell their products at MSRP. No discounts will be extended to the resellers, therefore they cannot afford to discount anything to the consumer.

I was trying to figure out why their products had a significant jump in price when I was shopping around for a 77mm Super HMC or Pro1 UV filter. Was also toying with the idea about their new HD filter. Now, I am not sure what to get except maybe a B+W or Heliopan.

2filter.com has been talking about this for a while now. I ended up ordering some Marumi filters from them.

they have the Hoya pro1 digital circular polarizing filters on sale at 2filter right now. I just got a 77mm one for my new L lens, for about $100 cheaper than B&H.

Not sure if that is MSRP, but it seemed like a decent deal.

some people need a polarizing filter on their mouth before they speak (not referring to this thread or the digital camera forum at all)

i wonder if Hoya can make one of those?

If they can, I am sure it can take a loudmouth and reduce his speech volume by 2 stops.
