Cuz they actively work to ass fuck real teachers every single year. Its not just stupid, its dangerous. The lack of real education pushes more and more people into blind belief and those people are scooped up by the republicans who use a fear/faith agenda to push their political goals.
If you need any more evidence to understand this is all a big conspiracy thats working really well, here it is.

This seems more like a feature than a bug to the GOP base. Further erode public education and strip away tax dollars to enrich Christian schools with vouchers. Build up that army of gods stupid children. Fuck everyone else.

The system is working as intended. Rich Dad doesn’t want Poor Dads’/Single Moms’ kids competing for college placements or future jobs—especially when those kids don’t look like his kids or have the same business/political/church connections.

The Kochsuckers got real anti education about 15 years ago all teachers are bad all schools are bad it was an endless drone. Recently they have added teachers are all groomers going after you children and grandkids. It is just part of the neo-liberal destroy everything so we can control it agenda.

Not only that, but these days there's an inverse relationship between educational attainment and one's propensity to vote for republicans. Trump said it himself - he loves poorly educated voters. And for good reason.

It's those uneducated racists and uneducated white supremacists that got especially triggered when that "black Muslim Commie Fascist" became the leader of "their country". They're still right up front at Trump cult gatherings and you know how Trump just loves those militant possies of his.

Looking to their religious leaders whose main concern is "saving" as many lost souls as possible before the end times and the political solutions they've engineered to solve that problem is a major factor in how the Repub party itself is propagandizing that flock of their faithful and purposely befuddled masses. Keeping their children isolated from the knowledge the world has to offer is a suspicious coincidence whereby so many conservative religious leaders and the political leaders of their party are striving for the same goal: Keep their followers ignorant and thus easily controlled.

Sowing mistrust, suspicion, fear and hate along with providing the only biblical solution to allay these concerns is one neat little package where the GOP leadership provides their followers with a host of ginned up problems AND the solution to those problems that just so happen to exclusively benefit the authors of such fiction is amazing to behold in its effectiveness.

It's as if their religious leaders believe that faith alone won't get the job done when faith is the whole premise of which promises made are going to be kept.

The President of Hillsdale College, a Fundie Christian school in Hillsdale, Michigan, said that education is like the plague.

  • “The teachers are trained in the dumbest parts of the dumbest colleges in the country."
  • "In colleges, what you hire now is administrators…. Now, because they are appointing all these diversity officers, what are their degrees in? Education. It's easy. You don't have to know anything."
  • “The philosophic understanding at the heart of modern education is enslavement…. They're messing with people's children, and they feel entitled to do anything to them.”
  • “You will see how education destroys generations of people. It's devastating. It's like the plague.”
  • “Here's a key thing that we're going to try to do. We are going to try to demonstrate that you don't have to be an expert to educate a child because basically anybody can do it.”

Yeah that dude has said some really stupid shit over the years. That shit school also focuses on a patriotic education. Ironically enough they claim to create “free thinkers”. A college built to turn out brandonbulls.

Well the graduation rate will decrease for sure.

I'd bet it does the opposite.

Those kids that wouldn't pass in real schools will possibly have more lenient requirements (or just outright falsification) and be moved along. Depends on the state, but I could definitely see more potential for shenanigans in that method.

My granddaghters both had to repeat preschool and kindergarten due to their parent and stepmother NOT taking the time. (1st corona virus year)

We have legal guardianship now, but the 7 year old graduated K and is going into 1st grade during which she will turn 8.

Very sad.

I would be curious to see a home school right wing history curriculum.

Slavery was just a misunderstanding
MLK was a communist troublemaker
Jan 6 didn't happen

If you're homeschooled do you need to take the GED or other standardized test before you get your diploma? The risk is no just these kids coming out poorly educated but also that they will be missing social skills in dealing with peers.

pretty sure that is correct.

It probably should look like 2+++2 = 5, but I am to lazy to actually test this. Just ignore the likely compiler error with 2++2.

edit: I was wrong!:
var a = 2; var b = a+++2; //results in: b=4, a=3
( I will go hide in shame now )

OP, First, you are making the incorrect assumption that these people think. They are incapable of thinking, they merely obey the teachings from the pulpit.

However, to answer the question, assuming it is considered thought, they have no doubt because they were told that god mandates they not allow their children to be taught anything that teaches or encourages critical thinking, as critical thinking is a sin and leads to questioning the bullshit of religion.

And thus the drive for private chartered schools with no government oversite for their outcomes.

I'm a very skeptical, very anti-authoritarian person by nature, but something I've learned from hard experience is that it's almost impossible to be better or to know better than specialized experts. And if you think about it, that just makes sense. Whatever it is that you do for a living, and have probably spent the better part of your adult life mastering, and you're certainly better at that than someone who hasn't similarly trained in the same speciality. Now I'm certainly not saying we should take any expert's word as gospel (God forbid!) but at the same time, it's kind of silly, if not downright arogant, to think you can do better your first try than someone who's spent years learning their trade.

But that's not the point with the homeschooling crowd, is it? Like anti-vaxxers, theirs is a fight against knowledge.

They are more concerned with indoctrinating their kids into their religion, more than what is true.
