I am being upgraded.

You can say that again.
I've been using a PII 400 w/ 128Mb RAM and ATi Rage Pro most of the time. People quit so I scavenged our resources and got a PIII 800.

What business app are you using that requires a ATI 9600P?

Funny. Sounds like the majority of users at my work who come to me and think their 2ghz machine isn't fast enough to run our terminal emulation software which is basically a CHUI telnet session. Sometimes it amazes me

Just kidding.

I do some CAD work and programming together with some number crunching recently. Lots of measurement data to do calculations on.
When it took 5 mins to calculate AllanVariance of 500000 points my boss caved in.

😀

Man youre lucky... we finally got upgrades at work about a year ago... we went from PII 233Mhz machines to 1800Mhz machines. Management didnt understand why our comps crashed constantly cause they only used their comps for word proc. and email yet we had about 18 to 20 programs open just to do our job. Idiots :|

Should work well then. Although, why didn't you max out the RAM with prices so cheap?

Bah that's always fun. I had a user that didn't understand me when i tried explaining something to him. So i told him simply it was a user error and we should replace the user. He looked at me and said "Really?"

He no longer works for us.

Tech support... I support over 15 programs.

Congrats. I think the average work computer is faster than my computer now. 🙁

At least I have a nice home theater. 😀

I dont run all th progs a support at one time maybe like 5 of them cause those are the ones that take forever to open... then you have 2 dif IM progs, call logging prog, email, multiple IE windows, couple of mainframe utils, my phone software the web chat software... theres more but im finally getting out for the night...cya

Lol... Sounds like me! I just got upgraded to a PII 450 with 256MB RAM 🙁 Sadly, that was a big jump from my celeron300 with 96MB. Everyone in the office is getting new rigs but me. I just get their old crap!
