I am being scammed through eBay...what can I do?

Here is the background info:

I am selling an Alienware PC on eBay, starting price $400. A day or two after I posted the auction, I got an email from a 'Janet Brown' stating that she had an immediate need for my item, and could offer $600 for it. I thought, nice deal! So I agreed, and then she said she was paying through BidPay. I receive what appeared to be a real BidPay payment confirmation email. The email said that BidPay had received the payment, and once I submit the tracking numbers to them, the payment would be deposited into my account. She was sending me prepaid FedEx labels.

The email is clearly fraudulent. The email is not from a BidPay domain, but rather @consultant.com. Also, my BidPay account shows that I have no current transactions. To clear up my suspicions, I Googled my scenario, and I found several other people who faced scams like this. Everything I read stated that these scams start from Africa.

Sure enough, when I received the FedEx labels today, this is the Ship To address:
Olaleye Michael
Janet Store
18 Ibari Road
Mosalasi
Alagbado Lagos, 23401

So I am now 100% sure this is a scam. My question for everyone is, what can I do about it? I want this person caught, or at least something done about this. I was originally contacted through email, not eBay, so I do not have an eBay login to report. I called FedEx, and they do not seem interested in helping me. They said they cannot check international packages just from the shipping label. This person was using the email address janet.brown2006@yahoo.com

Is there some internet service or even government agency that handles situations like this?

Should I send a box of bricks, knowing how expensive it is to ship internationally? How a bag of dog crap? Any ideas?

Look up there ^^^^

See that box that says "search"? Put "ebay" into that box and then press the Search! button. Read all of the other thousands of ebay scam questions.

Prepaid with specific weight already? Or they'll just charge her for whatever the weight ends up being? If the latter, ship her some old tires or something, it'll cost a fortune and you get rid of some old crap!

What do you mean what can you do; just don't ship it, problem solved. BTW, eBay isn't going to give you any support because you violated their TOS by making a deal outside of the auction.

Alot of coutries have to pay import taxes based on weight or declared value. It this is true for this country, place a high value on it and fill it with lead or something

Fill it completely with glue. Imagine the fun they'll have trying to open it and the hilarious disappointment.

Go to a store and get approx. 200 lbs of bricks. Find a box or a covered crate large enough to carry said bricks. Apply label to said box or crate. Call FedEX to come pick up your 'package' and wait for an angry scammer to give you death threats per e-mail. :)

My only worry is, this person has my full name. A quick Google search will give him my address and phone number. I don't want this coming back to get me somehow...

I was watching a show about this kind of fraud...and they said that the government in these places don't follow up with this sort of crime because they are swamped with people killing each other and rapes and don't have the time to get in the middle of money frauds. At least you were smart and didn't fall for losing your product. Definitely notify ebay of the user account of that person so they can suspend them...and see if they can suspend people from that IP address...

Actually, the most gruesome thing you could do -- but it would be totally f---ed up because it's cruelty to animals, so don't do it -- would be a box full of live mice.
