If it's for work, just tell IT and have them install a client for you.

If you're asking for bitttorrent for personal use, I'd either ask you boss for permission or install a remote control web interface on your home azureus bittorrent client. The remote control web interface will let you start and stop bittorrent downloads on your home machine with just a web browser from work.

We don't have an IT dept. We have a guy who comes in every now and then when it is needed. He likes me because he can call me and he can walk me through stuff that needs to be done. In fact, he would gladdly tell me what BT client to use, but I try to avoid calling him.

Try bitcomet. It'll use alot of memory by default as a disk cache, but you can limit it's memory usage. Also be kind to your coworkers and set your upload/download limits to a reasonable rate.

Like others are stating... if you have a competent IT dept. you should not be installing BT on any work machines without their permission.

Probably not blocked, just not forwarded to your machine. For this, I'd call your IT guy, even if you make the change yourself, just let him know you're forwarding some ports to your machine.
