So all of the sudden, all my games (heroes of the storm, SC2, WoW) starting glitching out ridiculously like screen tearing and all when it was in full screen. I finally play with some settings from the game files and found they opened fine in windowed. That was just the first oh shit. Also, i can no longer run the same games i used to run on high-ultra on anything above medium without crazy fps drops. I have an Intel (R) Core i7-4700mq CPU @2.4gz 2.40gz. Running an nvidia gtx 770m card. It's a custom build fangbook from Cyberpowerpc. I've had it for a little over a year now and it has been steller up until recently. Any ideas what's going on or any things I should try ? And please break it down barney style, i'm not super techy.

Thank you in advance!

I don't think it was because i haven't updated it in a few months. Mostly because my C:/ is full so i can hardly download anything anymore. I went to regedit and had everything default to go to the d drive where i have almost a 100gb left, but for some reason it keeps saying my disk is full like it tries to download things on the c:/. Gah! about to rip my hair out

My first thought was overheating.

But remember that Windows Update will update video card drivers if you let it, so look at the install date on your drivers and make sure they are the drivers you think they are (I know I have the latest from Nvidia as of a month ago, but Windows Update is still recommending I install one through them). TBH, a driver through Windows update shouldn't necessarily be causing these issues, but I have personally seen this happen before.

Do you know if the graphics card uses system memory for graphics memory? I definitely think you should be trimming the data on your drive (or getting a bigger drive) before looking into other ways to deal with this issue.

Well I have like 100mb left on the C drive but around 100gb left on my D drive. Not sure how to clear more space on the C drive. I've moved all the personal stuff like my documents and all that. The rest im scared to touch because i dont know what exactly is safe to move

Tip: uninstall programs that you don't use very much and re-install them on the D drive. If you feel comfortable doing so, tell Windows to remove all but your most recent restore point.

If you don't use hibernation, follow one of the steps here:

I did do that. Removed almost everything not important. Cleares temp folders. Only things left are windows stuff, nvidia and intell graphics stuff really. I have like 600 mb open now. Uninstalled intell graphics and reinstalled earlier version from when it was working fine and still hasnt solved my issue. Should i try that with the nvidia one as well? And whats the next step if that doesnt work?

Did the laptop start using the Intel graphics instead of the Nvidia graphics?

I don't like that small amount of space left. Do you know how big your page file is?

How big is your C drive?

If you feel comfortable doing so, You can use a program like EaseUS Partition Manager to shrink the D drive by 50 GB or so, then give the space to C drive.

This is likely a completely different issue than you posted about, but having almost no free space on a Windows partition can have all sorts of strange effects.

OK. It would help if I could see it. It you want/need some tips on that, Screenshot Captor for capturing the Window, the entire screen, or a selected space.
http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/screenshot_captor.html

And http://postimage.org/ for creating an image you can share here without having to register for anything.

As a comparison, here is what my SSD, hard drive, and flash drive look like. Each has one partition:

Check that one out. I contacted EAseUS's customer support and since it's on 2 different discs they said they couldn't help me

update. Wow started up with the intell 4600hd graphics. Had the nvidia disabled since i was re-installing it, and decided on a whim to try to open WoW, and it worked. Re-installed Nvidia graphics and WoW froze upon opening again. Starting to think it's an nvidia issue

Card is either overheating (as previously stated) or there is a physical problem with the card. Try a program like GPU-Z and see what the Nvidia temps are getting up to before crashing.

Missed this post earlier. You might want to try a program called WinDirStat. It will show you where a breakdown of how much space is being used by each folder.

Of course, you can replace your C drive with a larger one. Or you can find out of there is something using a large amount of space that can be moved to a different location. For example, depending on what OS you have, you could have a full image for a Windows 10 upgrade on your hard drive that you didn't even know was there.
