I am amazed by the longevity of the Logitech VX Revolution

I purchased this mouse way back in 2006, and to this day there has not been a better small-size, asymmetrical-ergonomic, wireless mouse. Logitech has since discontinued it and now sells its successor, the Marathon mouse. It's very similar, however I don't think it tops the VX (but maybe a tie at most).

The VX just feels so comfortable (partly because I'm a small person in general with small hands) and the scroll wheel is fantastic. I hope my mouse never wears out before a true successor (from Logitech or another company) is released. Any other mouse currently released would be a downgrade.

I'm amazed by your amazement, as these were the shortest-lived mice in my recent memory. I had several warranty replacements, but they all died within about 9 months given fairly regular use.

I did love the design, comfort and the features (why no other portable mouse I've bought since auto-turns-off when you slot the USB receiver back in its home, I don't know). They just kept falling apart / failing on me though.

Most of my MX's are still going strong though, and these are still one of my favourite desktop mice.

The Marathon is a little bit larger, which I really like, and moved the free-scroll switch from the hard to reach and toggle position on the bottom up to the top.

Also, they slightly modified the scroll wheel, increasing the number of 'teeth' or ratchets or whatever you want to call it, not by much but a little bit. Marathon beats out the VX in my opinion, and I had 3 of the VX (kept finding them on sale, and I wanted one at work, one at home and one in my bag).

I find the Marathon a tad large for the utility envisaged for it - the VX was almost the perfect size, and also the fit / comfort changed slightly if I'm not mistaken. I've subbed the actually quite nice (in terms of portability, tracking and comfort: The wheel is uber-meh compared to the Logis) Microsoft Mobile 6000 and the Arc Touch for when I want ultimate portability. Still, I would really like a VX again, just with better build quality.
