I am about to set up Redhat 9, this is the first time I have tried to do anything Linux related, does anyone have any tips or things that I should know about before I do it?

Thanks in advance.

Red Hat takes care of a lot of stuff. However, I tired my wireless PCI card in there and it uses some new chipset that is, as of yet, unsupported. If you're getting rid of everything on your HD, just tell the installer to remove all partitions and let it partition automatically.

Ok guys, I've set it up and it's really easy with redhat 9, it's almost like installling windows.
I've got a problem tho, all I am staring at is a GUI that tries work exactly like windows. I would now like to sample some of the greatness that Linux is supposed to be, do you guys know of any tutorials that I can follow to explore Linux?

if you really want to see linux just stick to th shell and learn to love it. I find it good to make projects then figure out how to compleat them. That is how I learned all that I know about Unix. For example I am working on getting a box to do layer 7 traffic shapping and in the process I have learned more than I ever have b4 about customizing the kernel.
