how is counter strike related to half life?

I thought they are 2 totally different games?

(never played either), not into FPS, prefer strategy games

so is half life 2 also a FPS game?

you know, anandtech really needs a Software - Apps, Programming and Games forum.

Half life got release a few years ago.Then some canadian dudes came out and create a mod call Counter Strike.Some noob like me and you in their cave create this thing.Valve bought the right from them.Today they are very rich adn work for valve i think.

And because of that Counter Strike became the most played online game of all time.Period.

But where i am dissapointed today is that CS:Sourse is the same thing as the original, with betetr graphics...WITH THE SAME MAPS!!!

bohooo Valve.You fail creating a good multiplayer game this time.

Single player rocks tho...
