I would like to replace my 17" monitor with a 20"+ television. Is this intelligent? I know nothing about TV-Outs. How high of resolution can your TV go? Does text read just as easy? Anything anyone has experienced or known about TV-Outs your help is appreciated =). Also does it work with big screen projection TVs?

Bad IDea- DOn't even think about it. TV is not a substitute for Monitor- Unless its along the lines of plasma/hdtv. The only TV-out I will use is from the Hollywoodplus DVD decoder- even though I own a couple of tv-out capable vid cards

About the only things TV-out is good for is watching DVDs and playing games. Text is very difficult to read, you won't be happy using a TV as your only display device, unless all you want to do is watch movies and play games.

TV-outs on video cards output a standard NTSC or PAL (depending on what part of the world you live in) and is limited to the resolution supported by those standards, which is roughly equivalent to 640x480 interlaced.

A TV-out would work with any TV with an s-video or composite video input, whether it is a projection TV or a regular CRT-based TV.
