7n400pro
xp1700 dut3c
Corsair 2 256 xms C2
Coolermaster HHC-001 hsf

I run cpu voltage at 1.85v, I have lots of fans and no cooling problems what so ever.

So my xp1700= 1.4ghz, now xp2700=2.2ghz

My bios settings :
sys performance: expert
Fsb frequency: 200
cpu interface: aggressive
memory timings: 11-2-2-2
agp frequency: I locked it at 66
thermal throttling: disabled

vcore +10
dim +0.2
agp +0.2
cpu voltage 1.85v

This is on the f8 bios that shipped with the board, I would pay special attention to the ram timings, as the standared school of thought on ram timings have changed for the moment with regards to nforce2 chipset boards.

There is a beta bios 10a, that is avail: shows dual channel when booting, and add additional multi.

the quickest o\c is to run the system with a 200 fsb, that should be just about automatic.

I'm having a terrible time getting my 400Pro board running right. And I'm not overclocking it at all. Keeps rebooting and half the time it won't detect the hard drives. Have checked the cables and done everything I could think of. Here's system: XP Pro, xp2600 333fsb, 2-512 PC2700CorsairLL , ATI 9000Pro 128, 80gb WDjb, Cendyne52x24x52. I installed the 2.45 drivers, that got my audio to work, but I still can't get the on board lan to work. Put in a spare 10/100 to get on line, but can't seem to keep it running long enough to figure anything out. Right now it's laying on the floor next to me with the case open and the hd out. Any suggestions?

Basics first, ok?
12v power connected?
What psu do you have?
Is your cpu speed being recognized correctly, ( did you flip the little blue switch?)
What are your ram timings?
Did you install the nforce Ide driver?

As for the on board lan, I cant answer that one specificly, I did have the same problem on a previous nforce2 board, what works for me everytime is to remove power from the cable modem for a few minuets, reboot without the modem, exit windows reconnect power to the modem, reboot into windows and now I can connect, may want to try and your milage may vary

i have a GA-7n400 pro and an xp2500, im not running my ram timings to much past spec, cpu is at 13X166 @ 1.75V booting as an xp3000.(2.16GhZ)

once i get some better ram i will run a lower multiplier and a higher fsb

as for your chip, remember not all overclock the same, if your using air cooling (a decent copper cooler, NOT the oem cooler) start out at around 2GhZ and bump up by the multiplier(2500's are unlocked) incrementaly at stock voltage until it starts to show signs of flakyness, than add Voltage in .25 increments. i would not experiment with ram timings until you find the processors "sweet spot" the point at where it performs well without adding tons of voltage(thus heat) because under load you can generally add 10-20 Degrees Celsius to what your idle temp in bios is.

once you find the speed it runs best at you can lower the multiplier and raise the fsb to achieve the same processer speed but with the higher fsb adding performance, get pc3500(434mhz) run it at pc3200(200mhz in bios) with the timings set lower. it is best if the ram runs at the same as speed as the cpu, set your ram speed to a 100% ratio and it will stay this way no matter what fsb you assign.

take it slow, dont rush it.

i really do not know how i will get up and goto work tomorrow....

Thanks for the input, gona try both your suggestions tonight. Said I wouldn't oc but everyone else seems to think it helps. I'm running the 2600 w/333fsb. I've been told I should have went with a 2500, may pick one up later and try it. I did make sure to plug in the 12V right away. Can't remember the ram timings and can't get into the bios yet. Will try tonight. Hope you guys can keep checking this thread and hang with us on this. Not many have this board yet and it's been hard to get any advice on it. Thanks.

PS. I've heard the 2500xp oc well, but how do the 2600's do? Also, I have an Antec 350 watt psu, 5 case fans(not counting psu) Antec 1080, no lights, Ati 9000Pro 128(need to find a 9700Pro) 2-512 Corsair 2700LL(slots 1 & 3). Yep, flipped the little blue switch. Was booting up as 2600xp before all the trouble. Still can't figure out why it won't detect the hard drives, maybe a bad cable. Going to pick one up in a few minutes and try it. Let you know what happens later tonight. Have a bonus day :), thanks.
