I am a new member looking to build a htpc/gamer machine.

I am a long time mac user,but with lion osx I have started to use windows 7 more and more. I have modded many macs with ram hdds cpus and I am pretty handy.

I am looking to build a hptc/gamer machine with the new Ivy Bridge.

The i7-3770k chip should be affordable for my budget.

I have been reading the forum for a few days. many members like amd cpus with their own gpus.

Since I have not locked myself into a case an integrated cpu/graphic s chip.

Since i can wait until april for intel what does and have now?

My budget for a smaller case a cpu a psu a mobo is 600 or so.

I have the hdds/ssds I have the blu ray drive I have 1600 mhz ram I have windows 7.

later on I would add a discrete gpu like a 6870 . i would add a tuner for dvr/tv
