We've been having some problems with our cable and router lately, where the modem would drop its connection shortly after being connected to the router. I've been troubleshooting it the past few days and finally had to call RoadRunner to have them send a tech to take a look at it as they think it might be a problem with the cable line itself.
Anyway, today, a slightly different problem arose. My two computers, which are both in my room along with the modem androuter, could connect without any trouble, but my father's two computers, which are downstairs behind a hub, could not connect. I spent the last few hours trying to troubleshoot that, and eventually decided it had to be the hub itself that was defective and preventing them from connecting. So I made a mental note to buy a new hub sometime soon. I moved onto something else, and a few minutes, a thought struck me. I went back upstairs, looked at the router, and plugged the wire from the downstairs hub in. Lo and behold, it works perfectly now! 😀 I'm not sure if I unplugged it and just plumb forgot about ir or if my dad unplugged it, but either way, it works now and my family thinks I'm a genius. 🙂
