Sorry TeAm! :(

I made a huge mistake a few minutes ago....

It started this afternoon when I installed the Queue on my laptop so that I could transport WU's from/to my work Queue. That part went fine. The bad part is when I started downloading them to the SETI server at home. I would start downloading them and, after it would stop, I would close the queue and restart it because it would send faster that way.....

The sad part....

:(

While I was doing that, apparantely SETIQueue was trashing (throwing away) about 20 to 30 results every time I did that and I didn't notice as I was sorta hypnotized....

Out of 190 WU's to be sent, only 91 made it to SETI....and to top it off, I didn't have "save a copy of all results" enabled on this Queue (I pray that it's ENABLED at work! Please!!!!!)

If not....a moment of silence (and a moment for me to barf) in honor of the brave 99 WU's that have now vanished.....

TAPS! :(:(:(

Don't worry; SETI@Home's servers keep track of WU's. If it doesn't get a result from a certain WU after a certain amount of time, it sends it out again. And I heard somewhere that some WU's get sent to multiple computers for increased accuracy of results.

That's bizarre... Is that the latest version that does that? I'm still back at 1.8 but am considering getting the latest to bring up a fresh queue and phase out the other (rather than doing an upgrade).

Uh.. was this in regard to one of your own seperate SetiQs or was this mistake impacting the Federation SetiQ?? :Q Next to the Federation, I think I'm the next most prolific user of that public queue. ;)

I'm running the latest version of the Queue. I looked at the logs and, after restarting the queue, it had multiple entries about removing a "dangling .ini file for such and such result". Not sure why it did this...maybe a bug? :(

Still sick over it all! :(

Oh, and it was the laptop Queue that did it as it was the one that I was restarting!

Engineer, A few months back I wiped out ~60 WUs with one wrong key stroke with Norton's Ghost. There was no UNDO key to fix that one! :( It took me a few day to get over that stupid move!

Eh, "save a copy of all results" isn't useful here, since that's done is moving result_nnn to the history-folder instead of deleting it after a successful upload... If Setiqueue deleted the result, you can't upload it, and nothing is saved in history-folder.
